RESEARCH INTERESTS
His interests broadly cover the fields of international security, peace and defense studies. In his doctoral research he worked on a comparative study of the motivations behind Argentina’s and Brazil’s participation in United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Operations (PKOs). He has also studied the evolution of PKOs and published on the characteristics of the Stabilisation Operations deployed by the UN and their implications in the framework of peace-making processes in the Global South.
Furthermore, Percoco coordinates the Young Researchers Group at the Institute of International Relations of the National University of La Plata and supervises the work of the South American Observatory of Defence and Armed Forces at the National Universit of San Martin – which is part of a regional network observatories based at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo in Brazil. In terms of editorial work at academic journals, Percoco is currently director of Perspectivas Revista de Ciencias Sociales and academic coordinator of Revista Política Austral.
