Argentine and Brazilian tech diplomacy with China & the United States

A research project that explores the diplomacy of science and technology from the periphery

The aim is to investigate the factors that explain the level of success or failure of tech diplomacy between states in a context of geopolitical tensions. Tech diplomacy refers to state strategies and practices at the intersection of foreign policy and science, technology, and innovation policies. In particular, the project studies Argentine and Brazilian tech diplomacy carried out with China and the United States in strategic sectors between 2016 and 2024. Finally, the project is aligned with the core research interests of the Centre for International Studies, School of Politics and Government, National University of San Martin (UNSAM), Argentina.
