RESEARCH INTERESTS

His early research focused on the study of regional economic integration from the perspective of critical theories of International Political Economy. Within this framework, he worked on the role of transnational social movements in the Free Trade of the Americas (FTAA) process and the  EU-Latin American bi-regional processes.  This led him to look at the politics of regional environmental governance/natural resources in the context of South American regionalisms. In recent years, his research has shifted to the field of visual politics and sustainability. Particularly, to explore the practices of seeing/showing the ecological crisis and sustainable futures in the visual arts. In order to understand the intersections between the visual and (post) extractivist political imaginaries.

He founded the BA programme in International Relations at UNSAM, which he directed between 2016-2020. He serves on the editorial boards of Globalizations; Business & Human Rights Journal; Protest; and Perspectivas. He has also taught international relations courses at various institutions; including Argentina’s National Foreign Service Institute (ISEN), the University of Warwick, Di Tella University and FLACSO. He obtained a Chevening Scholarship.
