Toward a critical reading of the notion of international insertion
This project pursues two interconnected objectives. First, it maps the conceptual elements that constituted the notion of «international insertion» within the discourse of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and of the Autonomist School of International Relations, examining the relational dynamics and boundaries established through these frameworks. Second, it traces a genealogy of international insertion as a concept, identifying its conditions of emergence and tracking the theoretical and practical transformations that have shaped its evolution—ultimately revealing the historical problems this concept has sought to address. More broadly, the project investigates how the concept of international insertion operates as a practice of subjectivation, shaping the ways actors understand themselves and their relationships within the international system. The project is developed within the core research agenda of the Centre for International Studies, School of Politics and Government, National University of San Martin (UNSAM), Argentina.
